Who is Annette

Annette
Annette

Annette is primarily a journalist and broadcaster, having worked in TV, online and radio since the 1980s. She’s worked for some of the best known names in broadcasting, including the BBC in the UK, and Newstalk ZB and The New Zealand Herald in New Zealand. But her passion is triathlon. She’s competed in 17 full Ironman races – including the World Championships in Hawai’i – and has lost count of the half Ironman and other triathlons in which she has taken part. She’s also a technical official, so it’s fair to say she knows triathlon backwards. Having said that, she’s also normal – or at least as normal as any triathlete is. She has days when she doesn’t want to train, and days when she can’t wait to get out there. She’s willing to have a go at anything, except black water rafting. Which is probably quite sensible.

She’s married to Allan (also a journalist!) and is Mum to son Nicholas and Wookie the dog.
